In the lead up to Christmas Day there will always be plenty of parties, gatherings or just catching up with friends last minute.
This is the perfect recipe to have on hand even just for yourself but if you need something a little extra, packing it into a nice jar this is something to take as a hostess gift with a lovely bottle of olive oil and a nice loaf of bread.
Gifting Recipe: My Easy Spicy Dukkah Recipe
Makes 3 1/2 Cups of Dukkah
Ingredients
1C walnuts
1C pumpkin seeds
1C blanched almonds
1C hazelnuts
3Tbsp cumin seeds
3Tbsp coriander seeds
3Tbsp fennel seeds
1tsp pepper
1/2tsp chilli flakes
2tsp flaky salt
1/2C sesame seeds
Method
Preheat oven to 160’C
In a large bowl add in all ingredients and mix everything together.
Lay out on an oven tray and toast for 5mins, stir and return to oven.
After another 5min remove from the oven and stand for 5mins.
In the blender add in the mix and blitz to a rough crumb.
Add into a jar leaving off the lid till completely cooled.
This will last in cool dark place for 3months.
This is not just for a bread board, it’s fantastic sprinkled over a salad for some extra crunch, added into a crumb mix for chicken tenders or fried fish.
If you are baking a Camembert this summer why not sprinkle over the baked cheese right after it comes out of the oven.
