My Irresistible Chocolate Cranberry Slice: A Step-by-Step Guide

My Irresistible Chocolate Cranberry Slice: A Step-by-Step Guide

Here's something for the kids, with very little input from an adult, kids can put this together for their lunchboxes or a treat after school.

And... with all the Long Weekends and the school holidays coming up, we thought something you could bake with the little ones could go down pretty well.

This recipe isn't overly sweet, and if you'd like to not add the chocolate ganache topping it wouldn't be missed.

Warning: these are NOT overly sweet which makes them highly moreish! Don't say I didn't warn you!

Chocolate Cranberry Slice-makes about 20 pieces

  • 1 1/2C rolled oats

  • 1C flour

  • 1tsp baking powder

  • 1/4C cranberries

  • 1/2C Milo or similar drinking powder

  • 1/2C brown sugar

  • 1/2C fine coconut

  • 130grm butter

  • 1/4C liquid honey

Method

Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a small pot melt butter and honey till just coming to the boil.

Pour hot honey/butter mix into dry ingredients and mix till combined.

Press into lined tin and place into oven for 20mins. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Once cool you can pour over ganache or leave it bear up to you.

Chocolate ganache
